Day 37—I Think That I Shall Never See A Poem As Lovely As A Tree

Those are the opening lines of one of my favorite poems, “Trees,” by Joyce Kilmer, written about 1914. I took this shot because I liked the stark contrast between the dark night sky and the subtly lit branches. It is not well-focused but I like the composition. I changed it to black and white, then applied a preset cyanotype effect. I think it turned my out-of-focus tree into an interesting photograph. Besides, it is all I managed to capture today.

  1. I really like this! The cyanotype gives it such an eerie feel- it’s giving me shivers! Did you ever see the movie, Blair Witch? Reminds me of it!
