Grand Prismatic in the Midway Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park is surrounded by stunted pine trees that tilt over permanently from the strong prevailing winds. The constant warm steam and continuous wind gusts give the trees a distinctive character that makes an unforgettable scene in winter as one approaches the narrow boardwalk that surrounds the Grand Prismatic.
