As the sun was setting yesterday, the Rocky Mountains were obscured by smoke from wildfires burning in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, probably parts of California and even some in Montana. Not only could we see the smoke, we could smell it and were inhaling it as we shot.
Makes for a beautiful sunset, but the reason is not good. Too bad you’re having to experience this while on your photo shoot. Sorry for you. Possibly wearing a mask might help if it gets really bad. You don’t want to breathe in too much of that stuff. Your description brings back unpleasant memories of past summers with major CA fires close to us. Fortunately, this summer we have been spared this in the CA foothills…. so far.
