When we were up in the Eastern Sierra photographing the arboglyphs (eventually coming to this blog) we noticed lots of giant dandelion like pods. They are actually common salsify or goatsbeard. I used my macro lens on this specimen.

Salsify was new to me, when we moved here- giant dandelions!!! Nice rendering with your macro lens.
