Happy New Year! Welcome (back) to my blog!
This is the first day of the fifth year of “In Focus Daily,” and today’s post is my 1,397th. Photography and this blog have become such an important part of my life that I can’t imagine my life without them. Thanks to everyone who reads it, thanks to everyone who subscribes to it, and, especially, thanks to everyone who comments on it.
For today’s shot, I was inspired by a photograph of a red delicious apple taken by Tom Brown, a member of my Flickr Daily Challenge group whose photography is stunning, often very minimalist, and with lots of negative space. My shot is of a Fuji apple and I used natural window light. I made three adjustments to this shot: I cropped it to 8X10; I changed the white balance, which was set to Auto, to Daylight; I added a slight black vignette because the black background needed a bit of darkening nearer the window side of the shot.
Focal Length 44mm; ISO 200; f/14; shutter speed 3 seconds.
