I almost expected Adam, Hoss, and Little Joe to come riding through the trees as we explored the Ponderosa forest near La Pine. I know the fictional Cartwrights’ Ponderosa Ranch was supposed to be in the Lake Tahoe area but the Ponderosa pines here made me think of Bonanza and the Cartwrights.
