Double-crested Cormorants are often seen perched on pilings with their wings spread. This one did a little preening before fully stretching out its wings. Although their feathers are all black, their eyes are a startling teal color. We photographed Cormorants, Brown Pelicans, and various Gulls on a commercial fishing dock in Grand Isle, Louisiana last week.
