While I was in Monument Valley a couple of weeks ago, I set a camera to run all night on my balcony to capture the stars as they moved across the sky. Although I had some user error glitches, I did manage to capture the night sky as it gave way to the dawn. Because the exposure was a 13 second exposure, a satellite appears as a straight line as it moves through the sky.
