The dispute on the lek continues with more squabbling prairie chickens.

This red-shouldered hawk seemed curious about my camera at Six Mile Cypress Slough in Fort Myers, FL.
2017—Another Angle Of View
Compared to the view of this female Anna’s hummingbird in yesterday’s post, the angle is higher, looking down on the bird, not straight on. I took these shots as I moved closer to the fountain. I haven’t managed the agility to crouch and move at the same time. I think trying it would be disastrous. I think the wings are interesting in these shots.
2017—D500 And Flash
A very cooperative female Anna’s hummingbird allowed me to move in close with my Nikon D500 and 300mm lens with SB5000 speed light attached while she was focused on the bubble in the fountain, the target for her morning bath. Auto Area AF worked like a charm. I was crouching down at minimum focusing distance, about 4 feet away from the fountain. The hummer was undeterred.
