2019—Celebrating No. 243

Happy Fourth of July! Two hundred Forty-three years ago, we declared our independence from Great Britain. On Wednesday night, I joined some folks from Action Camera and visited the El Dorado Hills Town Centre where the annual Fourth of July celebration is on July 3. This year, because of some construction, the fireworks were moved to the main roadway that bridges a large pond. Because the displays were shot from the pond on either side of the road and from the center of the bridge, we never knew where the next display would appear. Lucky for me, this shot was set off in the middle of the bridge, and my camera was facing the right direction when this display appeared.

2019—Back to the Golden Gate

In San Francisco last week, fog shrouded the bridge for a time while we were there. I was hoping to see the bridge thickly shrouded with fog and with the red towers just peeking through the white mist, but that did not happen. For a while, both towers were completely obscured but when the fog began to lift, just the tops of the towers were covered with fog. I took this photograph from one of the many bridge overlooks on the Marin Headlands, just a bit further North than the shot I posted a few days ago.
