The steady rains Tuesday are not expected to have much of an effect on the drought but we welcomed them anyway. By 9AM, a half inch had fallen, soaking the parched valley, it snowed in the Sierras, and thunder and lightening rumbled through the skies in the afternoon. These are some drops and rivulets on my car window and some drops on a garden chair.
